Acts 4: 8-12; 1 Jn 3: 1-2; and Jn 10: 11-18
Dear brothers and sisters, today we celebrate the Good Shepherd Sunday, and it is also called Vocation Sunday. In today’s First Reading from Acts, Peter draws attention of the assembled leaders and the elders not on himself, but that it was done in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean.
What do we do when someone singles us out and praises us for a job well done? Do we deflect the honour and recognition to our mentors, to our teammates at work?  Now the question is: Do we take all the credit for ourselves, or give praise and glory to our Lord and Saviour?  The best course of action is the latter one, to not to let pride come between us and God. We need to humble ourselves and give praise and glory to God. Besides being right, it helps reinforce his constant presence in our lives and that his guiding hand is always on our shoulder, and that the good we are trying to do each and every day in this world is not for our personal gain, but for the greater glory of his kingdom. 
Truth is told, Jesus has the power to lay down his life for you and me and the whole of creation and take it up again. we may just be the stones that were rejected by the builders; but, by our unselfish actions we can become the cornerstones of God’s Church here on earth.

Peter, in our First Reading for this Eucharistic Liturgy, is employing a Jewish historical form; reviewing the events of the past and moving through the present into the future. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob has “glorified his servant Jesus”.   Peter then hits his listeners over the head with the cold hard facts that they were responsible for the death of that very servant, Jesus.
The famous two disciples who had been traumatized by the death of Jesus and so were returning to the safety of Emmaus here are pictured as relating the experience of being spun around by their meeting with Jesus, Who had broken bread with them. Their hearts were on fire during this intimate liturgy and so back they come to relate their homiletic story.  Jesus shows up and shows off by convincing His congregation that He is really present to them in His humanity and divinity. Then, as results with any good homily, the minds of the little congregation were opened with understanding.
Every encounter that Jesus had with persons after the Resurrection was a “mission-meeting”. Jesus did not tell His little show-and-tell congregation to relax, talk things over and then see what’s going to turn up next. As with any experience of intimacy, with God or with other humans, there will be implications.  Intimacy invites us into mystery, into adventure, into deeper experiences of life.

Dear brothers and sister, today we celebrate the second Sunday of Easter as Divine Mercy Sunday. It is rightly so as Jesus imparts his peace to his disciples. On this day those who go to confession and receive Holy Communion are forgiven and receive indulgence for their souls. It’s a great celebration of God’s Mercy.
The greatest ever one can expect is the peace of mind and heart, especially when one is fearful and frightened. 429 X we find peace in the bible. Today the Risen Christ appears to the apostles gathered in a room; a room of fear, a room of vulnerability, a room of guilt of deserting Jesus and distressed, a room of desolate and abandonment. They did not know the next move but going with the emotions.  At these hard times of their life, Jesus comes to them saying, “peace be with you”. He restores them by forgiving and calming their fears and anxieties and imparts on them peace.
Jesus restores the apostles to himself. The same Risen Christ is with us, wishes to restore us with the same message as to the apostles comes to us in our most vulnerable time and gives us His peace. We need to put off our pretentions and be not afraid to see the Risen Christ in his glory and take home with us to live with Him.

Helping students in need. We are seeking a dynamic, future-focused teacher, who is able to inspire learners. The successful applicant will have a proven record of successful teaching at Y6–8 across all curriculum areas. The ability to form positive relationships with children, parents and teachers is essential. Confidence in the use of digital learning tools would be an advantage, along with a strong moral purpose and a sense of humour. You will also lead the mathematics programme across the school and assume the SENCO role. You will need to be a committed Christian and embrace the school's Christian values.
