Talofa Lava and good day to you all
Every hospital and nursing home can be a visible sign and setting in which to promote the culture of encounter and peace where the experience of illness and suffering, along with professional and fraternal assistance, helps to overcome every limitation and division. We have a mother with benevolent and watchful eyes, like her son, a heart that is maternal and full of mercy, like him, hands that want to help, like the hands of Jesus who broke bread for those who were hungry, touched the sick and healed them All this fills us with trust and opens our hearts to the grace and mercy of Christ. For as Christ's sufferings overflow to us, so through Christ does our encouragement also overflow. Mary's is the comforted mother who comforts her children .May the sweetness of her countenance watch over us, so that all of us may rediscover the joy of God's tenderness, allow it to dwell in our hearts and express it in our actions. Let us entrust to the Virgin Mary our trials and tribulations, together with our joys and consolations. Let us beg her to turn her eyes of mercy towards us especially in times of pain, and make us worthy of beholding, today and always, the merciful face of her Son Jesus .......Amen Fr Sanele New Parish Mass times from 1 August 2016 Thank you to all who took part in the Mass survey, your engagement with this process has been vital and the Parish Council is grateful for the effort made by all. Who do we say Jesus Christ is?
He is the Christ of God, the Lord, our saviour. He is with us in our daily lives. He may be present in our happiness, in our sadness, in our sufferings, and in our troubles. He really shepherds us to salvation, to the eternal happiness. We will experience his presence if we renounce ourselves and take up our cross every day and follow him. We are not alone in this life. Jesus Christ is with us. He is the saviour. The response of the Gospel of Mercy. The New Zealand Catholic Bishop’s Conference set the Day of Prayer for Refugees and Migrants (19 June) as close as possible each year to the World Refugee Day (20 June). This year Pope Francis reminds us to be inspired by the Gospel of Mercy. Migrants and Refugees challenge us to ensure that God’s love is felt by every individual, and to welcome them “home”. Let us pray today for all migrants and refugees, that all people may feel accepted and welcomed as part of the one human family Dear sisters and brothers,
Jesus does not mince words in today's Gospel reading when he says, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” It means forgiveness found through faith sets us free. Today, one might ask Jesus, “What does my faith save me from?” Or you might ask me, “What does forgiveness free us from?” I want to ask, “What is it that enslaves us?” Forgiveness leads us out of the cages that hold us captive. Cages of persistent pride, relentless resentment, boulder-sized shoulder chips, white-hot anger, cutting jealousy, and growing greed...at certain times in our lives we are thrown into these cages by the actions of another. In my experience, it is more often the case that I fashion and form the bars of my personal prison by my own choosing. Rather than acknowledging myself as a sinner who is loved by God, I berate and belittle myself as a simply a sinner...period. St Anthony of Padua, accepted incarnation of Jesus. He was a great preacher, teacher and friend of Child Jesus. People pray to him for lost or stolen things to be found. St. Anthony: pray for us. Mass Times for Holy Trinity Parish The Parish Council will be seeking approval from Cardinal John Dew for the new Mass times to be adopted across the Parish. As far as faith, the hinge of the Christian life, is concerned, the Mother of God shared our condition. She had to take the same path as ourselves, a path which is sometimes difficult and confusing. Our pilgrimage of faith has been inseparably linked to Mary ever since Jesus, dying on the Cross, gave her to us as our Mother, saying: “Behold your Mother!” (Jn 19:27). When the faith of the disciples was most tested by difficulties and uncertainties, Jesus entrusted them to Mary, who was the first to believe, and whose faith would never fail. The ‘woman’ became our Mother when she lost her divine Son. Her sorrowing heart was enlarged to make room for all men and women, all, whether good or bad, and she loves them as she loved Jesus. The woman who at the wedding at Cana in Galilee gave her faith-filled cooperation so that the wonders of God could be displayed in the world, at Calvary kept alive the flame of faith in the resurrection of her Son, and she communicates this with maternal affection to each and every person. Mary becomes in this way a source of hope and true joy!
